Latin courses

In order to participate in the courses an intermediate level knowledge of Italian is required (B1 of the CEFR - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

2 week course

2 hour lessons, 3 times per week for a total of 12 hours

  • Relationship between Italian and Latin: origins, transformations.
  • The noun and its logical functions: the 5 declinations.
  • The verb: introduction.
  • The complements.
  • The Latin sentence.
  • Great Latin authors: Caesar and Cicero. Their period and their prose.

4 week course

2 hour lessons, 3 times per week for a total of 24 hours

  • Relationship between Italian and Latin: origins, transformations.
  • The noun and its logical functions; the 5 declinations.
  • Adjectives and pronouns.
  • The verb: introduction.
  • The Sum and Habeo verbs.
  • Transitive e intransitive verbs.
  • Active and passive forms of the verb.
  • The complements.
  • Invariable parts of the sentence.
  • The Latin sentence.
  • Great Latin authors: Caesar, Cicero and Livy. Their period and their prose.
  • Great Latin poets: Catullus and Horace. Their period and their poetry.

Registration is valid for one year and includes the accommodation search service, a few cultural activities, any teaching materials and the certificates.
